We’re located in Stowe, Vermont — an amazing community with a world-renowned ski resort that has somehow managed to keep its homespun charm. You can dress in satin or fleece, Burberry or Woolrich and feel perfectly at home. You might find yourself center stage at the annual Barn Dance, boogying with a billionaire. Or maybe you end up discussing local politics with a renowned story teller, who’s also been in a TV commercial or two. It’s a community with a heart for Main Street, bonded together by principles and values, not bank accounts and pedigrees. It takes a certain character to appreciate the place, and people are here of their own will, held captive by the enchantment of a simpler mountain lifestyle.
Founded in 1983
The store began in 1983 on the historic Mountain Road as Stowe Kitchen Company. The original concept was to provide a local resource for professional and amateur cooks seeking top-of-the-line cookware, cutlery, and tools of the trade. Kitchenware was complemented by fine tabletop linens, dinnerware, glassware and serving pieces. The resounding response allowed the store to expand in both size and scope, to offer bedding, linens, and gift items.
Kate Carpenter and her husband, Brian purchased the store in June 2009. From the start, Kate’s mission was to create the best customer experience possible. Working tirelessly with manufacturers and designers, she sources products and price points that satisfy the unique nature and individuality of her clients. Knowing that customers travel from all over to visit her store, she seeks the best the world has to offer—from Montpelier, Vermont to Paris, France, to Australia and beyond. It’s important to her to stay on trend and constantly deliver exciting new experiences.
Today, Stowe Living offers a well-curated and complete range of home furnishing with a promise to surprise and delight with every visit. From high end copper cookware, kitchen and table ware, Rugs by Dash & Albert and Company C to personalized bridal registry Stowe Kitchen Bath & Linens has what you need to transform your home to a sanctuary of classic comfort that embraces your lifestyle. The product selection is enhanced by store activities and events. Perhaps you’ll encounter a famous author and head home with a treasured, autographed book about home décor. New this summer is our professional kitchen that offers weekly cooking classes with world famous chefs.
